Fantastic interview! Really enjoyed the energy of Sebastian and his common sense approach to life and health. Thank you Eric for letting people tell their story, you have a great style of interviewing by ‘getting out of the way’. This has been a great summit, I really got a lot out of it.

  7. Cheryl says:

Sebastian’s herbal book is a staple here at Kanyakumari’s Ayurveda School. So for years we have been urging him to please come to the US, speak and share his and his teachers wisdom to our students, alumni and community. He is a precious gift to all of our Ayurveda communities, hoping you all will encourage him to share on a broader level. Blessings to the Ayurveda Summit for holding the space for more Ayurveda to flourish.

  8. Lupe says:

Really enjoyed Sebastian’s relaxed grounded style to address several sensitive health issues i.e. woman’s health, kid’s health, not demonizing. Taking the proper therapeutic doses and how you eat is as important as what you eat. Very good, thanks Sebastian.

  9. cecelia grasser says:

A wonderful talk and an inspiring man. Sebastian brought things to a level of understanding that made Ayurveda even more appealing and easy to follow. Especially liked that he said you follow what suits you, an amoral approach. So happy to be exposed to people in other parts of the world. Thank you Eric and Sebastian for this session.

  10. Melanie says:

Really enjoyed this talk. Enjoyed that it had some broader commentary, but also some specific recommendations. Looking forward to learning more.

Loved the relaxed pace of this talk. I found myself wanting to curl up with a warm cuppa tea and dream about an herb garden. Just lovely ❤️

  14. RC says:

Thanks so very much for this relaxed but enlightening teaching. Peace be with you!

  15. Kathleen says:

I LOVE Pukka Teas. I’m so happy to see Sebastian Pole. What a great surprise. His teas are like none other. I will have to look into his book. Thank you so much.

Wonderful talk!!! I am an Ayurveda practitioner and so much of this resonated with me. Especially the parts of not being dogmatic or extreme with your diet. Change your diet according to the seasons, eat locally and fine tune it to your ayurvedic constitution:) I see many clients who want an extreme cleanse and fast results, so it can be challenging to shift their mindset to an approach that is more gradual and nourishing. I would have liked to have heard more about the anupana, or medium in which to take herbs. I use ghee a lot for my herbal preparations, and have found great results. Again, thank you so much for this enlightening and insightful talk, and i look forward to more.

  17. Kim says:

This is my favorite talk so far, thank you! The ayervedic herbs my naturopath prescribed for me have changed my life, so I have begun gathering more information about this way of life. Thank you for mentioning how great Sebastian’s book is, I will go take a look!

  18. Janet says:

Awesome talk! I have seen his teas but was not sure about them, will have to try:)

  19. Lauren Sherwood says:

Haven’t had a lot of chance to listen to as many of these interviews as I would like so I have basically chosen one a day! As the book of choice of my friend and local Ayurvedic teacher is Sebastian’s, I was excited to hear his interview! I absolutely loved his energy and philosophy on life and Ayurveda!! Thank you so much for sharing! Eric has also done a wonderful job of interviewing. Much Gratitude for all who contributed to this wonderful opportunity! Excited to continue my own experience, education and life in Ayurveda!! Namaste!

  20. Ms. Cheryl says:

Great interview. I read and like tea- must see his book. Thanks for the herb information, 5 I have not heard of before this talk.

  21. ruth says:

Very interesting interview, I have a question: what kind of tea do u recommend during pregnancy and postpartum ? because he covered almost all stages of life but not these

  22. Ann says:

Loved listening to Sebastian, he was very relaxed in his conversation with Eric….very informative but loved that he took days off to have fun & have a beer & chocolate cake lol….I find we tend on a whole to get too serious instead of enjoying life as it comes. Have been reading a lot about Ayurveda & its a health system that makes a lot of sense….love continue learning with these webinars & all the fantastic knowledgable teachers….thank you so much & Namaste 🙂

  23. Jane says:

Thank you so much for interviewing Sebastian Pole. I love his book (and Pukka Teas!) So much useful and interesting information was shared in this short talk. Dr. Grasser did a great job asking pertinent questions. Definitely my favorite talk of the Summit!

  24. Ruby says:

I loved this talk, very relaxed, informative and fascinating. And now I have just ordered one of Sebastian’s books from the library! There is a lot of info in here, and I felt as if I’d learned from solely listening and absorbing (and not taking many notes). The gentle connection between Sebastian and Eric allowed this to happen. I’ve had a lot of help from Northern European medicinal plants over the years and am bringing in other aspects of treating illness. Sebastian encouraging words have really pin-pointed that the principles of Ayurveda would be easy to bring into ones life over time. He wasn’t precious about anything, and kept repeating the idea that you need to attend to your own body, that Ayurveda is amoral. I was vegetarian and vegan for 35 years, and unfortunately I now realise that this wasn’t especially successful for me. I’m trying to find a new and more appropriate way to care for myself through food and this talk has given me a pathway to do this. Thanks for this everyone, and you know when there’s video’s it seems much easier to be able to understand things!!

  25. Susan Livingston says:

I am the living counterexample to everything they say about menopause. Mine was totally uneventful in spite of extremely difficult and premature puberty, severe and irregular menstruation (until my sons were born), severe digestive difficulties since my mid-30s, and complete lack of menopause mentoring, coaching, or consultation. I attribute it to two things: I’ve never taken birth control pills, and I had my children at the optimal biological (not economic) time of my life.

  27. Mr. Gregg says:

I have type 2 diabetes and I am insulin resistant. What herb do you recommend ?

  28. Victoria Alara Alcoset says:

Thanks, gentlemen, for the lively conversation about herbs, particularly dosage. And for the focus on women’s health and “go-to” plants for working with kids. I have appreciated Mr. Pole’s book so much for it’s beautiful visual presentation and color photographs of the herbs. It is also has an excellent history of Ayurveda in the introductory section, as well as a succinct overview of the broad range of product types we use to deliver the herbs: infusions and powders, yes, but also jams, herbalized ghees, etc, and some of the most popularly used formula combinations. Thank you, sir, for writing it and thanks Dr. Grasser for bringing it to wider attention on this Summit. I might not offer the book to a client unless they are quite motivated to learn in depth, but I highly recommend it to Ayurvedic Practitioners.

  29. Michele says:

Thank you for interviewing Sebastian Pole! He is an amazing person & this was a very informative interview.

  30. K. Isatu says:

Angie, Would this book be appropriate for someone just learning ayurveda? I own an herb shop and work with customers choosing herbs for different applications daily. I am trying to stay bioregional as much as possible. Also, are most of the herbs suggested available from suppliers like Mountainrose? Than you for your help.
