I think I am going to start labeling my life pre-Ayurveda summit and post-Ayurveda summit. I have changed in profound and lasting ways this week as I have listened to all this wisdom. I have been looking for this kind of framework amidst all the clamoring voices telling me what to eat and when to eat and why to eat and how to care for my body. Thank you for offering knowledge that empowers me to know my body and care for it. Thank you for labeling the wisdom as Ayurveda instead of labeling it some random cocktail of your own design. I practice Mormonism also and we have an ancient feel to our teachings. This so closely resembles our health code and the ideas in our Pearl of Great Price that I feel the truth of both reverberating through my body, mind and soul. After listening I realize I have so much to learn by tying together the Bagavhad Gita and Doctrine and Covenants 89 (the Word of Wisdom is what we call it). I have always believed that true things fit together and seeing that play out as I listen to this summit and weave together ideas is an incredible gift. In this short week Ayurveda has added so much beauty and perspective to my life. I am enamored with the idea I having it to enliven me for the rest of my long life! Deep deep gratitude to y’all.

My sentiments and views, exactly. I skipped through your talk the first time, didn’t have time, so really glad to have this Encore opportunity to hear you in full – realized at the last minute I should listen, and so glad I did. I can truly identify with lots you present. Thanks so much for participating.

  6. Janine says:

I enjoyed your presentation a lot especially because I missed it the first time. You have many great points but some have to be considered for individual person, not as a general rule… being a somewhat vegan (not by choice) I can say from my own experience that avoidance of meat, dairy and gluten made a humongous difference in my life and well being. I am your age and my energy levels are often much higher than those of younger age. No aches of any sorts, no headaches (which I had plenty of before) and no digestive issues. I believe that public needs to be more educated in GMO, modern gluten, highly processed foods, antibiotic and hormones in animals, chemicals, food colourings and more as those are the biggest dangers in modern food industry. I strongly believe that without all above mentioned factors we as a human race will be in a much better shape regardless of what we chose to eat. Ayurvedic, vegan, vegetarian or whatever diets we chose can’t be fully working to our benefit with those often well hidden aspect. Thank you again for your wonderful presentation! Janine

  7. Lupe says:

Really enjoyed Dr. Douillard! His knowledge is impressive very earthy rooted in personal experience; easy to understand eve for those of us who are new to Ayurveda. I particularly enjoyed how he explained eating based on the seasons and what the body needs based on where you live and your constitution. His information on kids and aging was right on. In this world of “me, me and me,” I deeply connected with his closing statement of learning how to truly live life, by loving more, caring more, and forget whether others love you back and focus on giving love. Thanks john.

I love the way you have explained the truth of Ayurveda in ways that can be easily applied in our modern world. I particularly over your talk about the skin and feeling safe and secure enough to let the petals unfold. I was introduced to Ayurveda 2 years ago and have felt myself rebuilding a strong container to live a healthy life in my ageing years. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the enlightenment. Profound lecture.
New understanding of eating in accordance to seasons as the seasons can determine high protein vs high carbs diets.
But how do one practise seasonal eating while living in the tropics where seasons are less defined?

  18. andrea says:

I would like that doctors speak slowly mainly for all us in Latinoamerica where english is not our mother tongue. I heard other interview today and it was easier to understand than this.

    • Juliana says:

Opino exactamente lo mismo que tú. Para mí fue bastante difícil entender esta presentación.

I totally agree with you Andrea!

    • Dr. Grasser says:

  22. Maria Egervari says:

Informative talk, however I would just like to shed light on a misunderstanding: naturopathic medicine is based on the healing power of nature. It believes that the body has an innate ability to heal and uses therapeutic methods from nature to support that healing process. There are naturopathic doctors who practice in the way described in this talk, but that is a deviation from pure naturopathic medicine.

  23. marilyn says:

Loved Dr. Grasser question posed to dr. Douillard at the very end. What is the most significant things you’ve seen bring success over and over again to your patients. Dr. Douillard’s response was “eat a big lunch, quiet the mind, establish silence. reboot and detoxify and do YOU” I have to relisten. it was GREAT!!!

  24. Nancy says:

Seeking the Truth… Thank you Dr. John Douillard !Cate and Eric your Brilliant . Peace

  25. Marvin Smith says:

I am a retired DC who, earlier this year, went to the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico to get a better understanding of my physical functioning at this stage of my life. I was impressed to the point that I enrolled in Dr. Lads lecture course this past summer. Making the connection between Ayurvedic Science and western medicine was a challenge. However, I felt that as my knowledge grew so would that understanding of and the ability to communicate the wisdom of this ancient tradition to the western mind. Thanks for the encouragement, in your Summit presentation, that the connections, understanding, and ability to communicate them to a western trained mind is possible. Peace.

  26. anne marie says:

One of the best interviews I have experienced so far. Would like to see this one again. Just listening to 2 people talk without all of the technology is great. Dr. John is very practical — in a very complicated culture — I can enjoy a more simplified approach to longevity and ayurveda medicine. Thank You both. 😀

  47. riddhi says:

how do i help my extremely bright but highly demotivated 15 yr old. She always complains being tired, sleeping, doesn’t want to go to school. I know health wise she is not at her optimum as she is on Zyrtec everyday. Has a very unhealthy eating habits even though I do make healthy Indian food everyday. I heard you talk a bit about the child psychology. How do I get more info on it. I really don’t want to put her on ADD medication and do want to treat her the natural way. Thank you!

    • Andrea says:

Is your child taking Zyrtec for allergies? If so, allergies may be what the problem is. I was tested, found out I was allergic to many things and now get allergy shots weekly and don’t need the allergy meds that are notorious for making you tired. I’m not a doctor but it may be worth a try. I would try to stay away from the ADD meds. They can be dangerous.

  48. Allison Smith says:

Thank you for organizing this beautiful quilt of knowledge, Eric and Jessica!

  49. Ivonne Henry says:
